Ares Morpho Robe is a robe that is dyed with the scales of butterfly wings in Dragon's Dogma 2. The wearer will get resistances to Blighted Debilitation and Silence Debilitation when wearing the robe. It can be worn by the Trickster, Mage, Sorcerer, and Warfarer Vocations.

Ares Morpho Robe Quest Guide

The Sorcerer's Appraisal is a side quest given by Myrddin in Checkpoint Rest Town. It starts when you visit his home wearing both the Courtly Tunic and the Courtly Breeches.

1. Get the courtly attire by finishing The Ornate Box, or loot the chest in the guest chambers on the second floor of Vernworth Castle.
2. Equip both pieces and enter Myrddin's home. He asks you to find rare grimoires for his research.
3. Climb the broken wall on the right side of the house and jump onto the upstairs balcony. Take Let There Be Light from the desk, and stay off the inside stairs, as Myrddin attacks if he catches you.
4. Buy Fulminous Shield for 5,000 G from Dudley, the merchant carrying a camping kit near the entrance of Melve.
5. Finish Tolled to Rest first, then collect Nation's Death Knell from the Ancient Battleground.
6. Open the glowing chest on the second floor of Waterfall Cave for Howling Blizzard. The chest summons a Lich. Wendy in the Nameless Village also trades the tome for a forged Fulminous Shield.
7. Complete The Caged Magistrate, then speak to Waldhar in the vaults of the Gracious Hand for Towering Earth.
8. Pay Ibrahim in Checkpoint Rest Town to forge copies, and keep the originals for Trysha in Spellbound.
9. Hand three grimoires to Myrddin to complete the quest.

Smithing Upgrade Guide

Every piece of armour can be enhanced three times at an armoury or smithy, each time for gold and the materials listed below, and a fourth time with Wyrmfire. Any armoury or smithy works on weapons and armour alike. Each smith works in one style, and you can mix styles from one level to the next.

• Vermundian raises every attribute moderately. Armouries and smithies in Vermund offer it, such as Roderick's Smithy and Bjorn's Armory in Vernworth.
• Elven raises Magick and Magick Defense greatly, Strength and Defense only a little. Grisha's Armory in Sacred Arbor offers it.
• Battahli raises Strength and Defense greatly, Magick and Magick Defense only a little. Armouries in Battahl offer it, such as Awaran's Arms and Bodas's Armory in Bakbattahl.
• Dwarven raises Knockdown Power and Knockdown Resistance. Sara at Brokkr's Smithy offers it after Steeled Resolve, Blazing Forge, and Gautstafr after Put a Spring in Thy Step.
• Wyrmfire halves the weight and gives a further boost once the first three enhancements are done. The Dragonforged at Bay Wayside Shrine takes payment in Wyrmslife Crystals instead of gold.

Taking Ares Morpho Robe to level 3 costs 17,976 G in all, whichever style you choose. Elven smithing gives it the most Magick Defense at level 3 (227), while Dwarven gives the most Knockdown Resistance (52). Wyrmfire then costs 10 Wyrmslife Crystals.
