The Ring of Skullduggery is a Ring in Dragon's Dogma 2. The Ring increases damage by 20% when attacking enimies from behind. This is one of the best rings for the Thief and Archer vocation.

Ring of Skullduggery Gameplay Effect
Damage Effects:
- Increases damage by 20% when attacking enemies from behind.
- Two rings of Skullduggery can be worn to increase the damage boost to 40%
Determining Back Attacks: In the game, whether you're behind an enemy is determined by an invisible plane (like a sheet of glass) that goes through their centre of mass. If you're behind this plane and hit the enemy, you get the damage bonus. However, some enemies have body parts that stick out in front of this plane, making it tricky to perform back attacks in certain situations. For example, with the Cyclops, if you try to attack its head from behind, you won't get the back attack bonus because the game forces you towards the front of the plane. But ranged attacks from behind the Cyclops can still count as back attacks.
Specific Cases: Four-legged Enemies (like Gryffins and Drakes): The axis is still centered on their midsection and vertically aligned. When standing on their back, melee back attacks are only possible from the tail to the lower back. Ranged attackers standing on the lower back can still perform back attacks on the rest of the monster.
Knocked Down Monsters: Even when a monster is knocked down, the plane remains in the same position and orientation. Standing on the shoulders of a knocked-down Cyclops won't allow for back attacks. The positioning follows the same rules as for four-legged monsters.
How to get Ring of Skullduggery and Map Location
- Quest: Reward from Hunt for the Jadeite Orb
- Can be purchased from the wandering merchant Folkes in the Ancient Battleground, north east from the Checkpoint Rest Town.
- Towards the end of the game the ring can be looted from a chest hidden in tall grass on the Volcanic Island. The chest is located south west from the Volcanic Island Camp
- Has a 2% chance to drop from the Dullahan.

Ring of Skullduggery Quest Guide
Hunt for the Jadeite Orb is a side quest given by Everard or Offulve in Checkpoint Rest Town. It starts when you speak to either man, and both of them want the same treasure.
- Speak to Offulve, who approaches you soon after you arrive in town, and to Everard outside Celeste's Smithy. Talk to both men.
- Find Ibrahim's Scrap Store, tucked behind a thick bush behind Everard's spot. Buy the Jadeite Orb from Ibrahim for 7,500 G.
- Get a second orb for Offulve. Ask Ibrahim to forge one for 2,000 G and pass time until it is ready, or let the Sphinx copy the genuine orb in the Riddle of Conviction during A Game of Wits.
- Hand the genuine orb to Everard. He takes it to Ibrahim to check, so wait for him to come back, then collect 12,000 G and the Ring of Skullduggery.
- Give the second orb to Offulve by the oxcart station outside the inn. He hands over 3,000 G and an Elite Camping Kit, and the quest completes.
Outcomes:
- Give Everard a forgery: he has Ibrahim check it while he is away. Bribe Ibrahim with 12,000 G to vouch for it and you still earn the Ring of Skullduggery; fail and Everard learns of the deceit.
- Give the only orb to Offulve: 1,000 XP, 3,000 G and an Elite Camping Kit.
- Tell Offulve the orb was nowhere to be found: he leaves town and the quest ends with Everard's reward alone.
- A forgery given to Offulve is exposed later, and he swears revenge if the deceit was deliberate.
Rewards: 2,000 XP, 15,000 G, Ring of Skullduggery, Elite Camping Kit
