The best Two-handed weapon you can get early in Skyrim, at level 1, is the Ebony Greatsword. The Ebony Greatsword should not be confused with the unique Daedric Artefact the Ebony Blade, which can be obtained at level 1 and can be empowered to deal more damage than the Ebony Greatsword.

How to Get the Ebony Greatsword Early
Where to find the Ebony Greatsword Location?
- It is possible to get the Ebony Greatsword at level 1 in Skyrim by going to the location Lost Valkygg. Battle your way through the dungeon until you reach a large hole that leads to the Draugr Deathlord. It is possible to cheese this boss fight without taking any damage if you land on the beam as you drop down the hole. From this beam you can slowly take down the Draugr Deathlord, even at level 1. Once defeated you can drop down and pick up his Ebony Greatsword for yourself. You can find a full location walkthrough on how to do this in the video guide above.
- Once you reach level 36 Unenchanted Ebony Greatswords will begin to appear throughout Skyrim and enchanted Greatswords can be found at level 37. They will appear in random loot chests, enemies or for sale at the various merchants around Skyrim. It is possible to get the Ebony Greatsword from the Draugr Overlords found in Nordic dungeons once you reach this level.
- The Ebony Battleaxe can be crafted once you reach level 80 smithing skill and have the Ebony Smithing Perk.
