In Starfield number of different weapon effects can applied to weapons based on their rarity level. Both weapons and armor sets have different weapon rarity levels like: Rare, Epic, Legendary. Each of these levels comes with several possible weapon effects listed in the table below. Note that weapon effects are diffrent to armor effects.

Weapon effects are randomised when you find the weapon. You can keep reloading to before you picked up or killed an enemy wielding a legendary weapon or armor set until you get the legendary effects that best match your character build. However, uniquely named weapons always have fixed effects that cannot be altered.

The difficulty you play on will increase your chance of obtaining legendary weapons and armor sets by 0.5% on Hard difficulty and 1% on Very Hard difficulty.

Furious Each consecutive hit deals more damage Damage increaces by 5% with each consecutive hit:

Effect Tier 2

Corrosive Randomly deals corrosive damage and reduces the targets' armor over 6 seconds 8% chance to deal a random effect (does not stack):
  • 15% weapon damage as Corrosive (Energy) damage instantly
  • -35% Damage resistance and Energy resistance

Crippling Deals +30% damage on the next attack after hitting a target's limbs - Pistols, Rifles, Shotguns, Heavy Weapons, Melee Weapons
Handloading Volatile rounds that are designed to pack a bigger punch, but aren't as stable and can fail on occasion 5% chance to apply a damage bonus or negative effect:
  • 5% chance for +25% damage
  • 10% chance for +15% damage
  • 75% chance for +5% damage
  • 10% chance for -50% damage

Incendiary Randomly deals incendiary damage
  • 12% weapon damage as Energy damage instantly

Lacerate Randomly applies bleed effect to the target 6% chance to apply bleed for (weapon damage type) over 4 seconds Pistols, Rifles, Shotguns, Heavy Weapons, Melee Weapons
Med Theft Chance that humans drop extra Med Packs on death Humans bodies have a 5% chance to contain 2 Med Packs in addition to their other loot Pistols, Rifles, Shotguns, Heavy Weapons, Melee Weapons
Poison Randomly deals poison damage and slows the target 8% chance to apply the following effect to targets who are not currently poisoned:
  • 30% weapon damage as Poison (Energy) damage over 10 seconds
  • 40% movement speed reduction

Radioactive Randomly deals radioactive damage and demoralizes the target 8% chance to apply the following:
  • 24% damage over 6 seconds (resisted by Environmental Resist)
  • Demoralize for 6 seconds

Elemental Randomly deals Corrosive, Radiation, Poison, and Incendiary damage 8% chance to deal a random effect that's not already applied to the target:
Corrosive:
  • 15% weapon damage as Corrosive (Energy) damage instantly
  • -35% DR and ER

Incendiary:
  • 12% weapon damage as Fire (Energy) damage instantly
  • 24% weapon damage as Fire (Energy) damage over 4 seconds

Radiation:
  • 24% damage over 6 seconds (resisted by Environmental Resist)
  • Demoralize for 6 seconds

Poison:
  • 30% weapon damage as Poison (Energy) damage over 10 seconds
  • 40% movement speed reduction

Skip Shot Every fourth shot fires two projectiles at once Every 4th shot will fire two projectiles instead of one. Pistols, Rifles, Shotguns, Heavy Weapons
Tesla Rounds will sometimes emit electricity where they land that damages and slows nearby targets - Pistols, Rifles, Shotguns, Heavy Weapons
Titanium Premium build materials make this weapon light as a feather - Pistols, Rifles, Shotguns, Heavy Weapons, Melee Weapons
