Starfield has 17 Tech Skills, the majority improve ship capabilities from ship weapon systems to shields.
The best science skills to priortise early are the Boost Pack Training Skill which unlocks the jetpack mechanic which is crucial for navigating the environment quickly. And the Security Skill which allows the player to unlock harder levelled locks, some of which houses the best legendary weapons and Armor Sets in the game.
