Fallout 4:Fallout 4 Free Next-Gen Update

Return to the Commonwealth on April 25! With new DLC content for Fallout 4!

The Fallout 4 Next-Gen update has finally been announced by Bethesda after the success of their highly rated Fallout TV show. The Fallout 4 Next-Gen Update is due to release on April 25th. This free update brings a host of enhancements and improvements to the iconic post-apocalyptic RPG, catering to both console and PC players alike.

New DLC Content

Bethesda is offering even more content to enrich the Fallout 4 experience. The free Creation Club items include the Enclave Remnants questline, introducing the notorious Pre-War faction, The Enclave, into the Fallout 4 storyline. Players embark on a new quest, "Echoes of the Past," to thwart The Enclave's dangerous plans and preserve the fragile balance of the Commonwealth. During this new questline players can obtain the newly added armor set, the Enclave Colonel Uniform. Alongside new workshop items and the Enclave Colonel uniform, players can access previously released creation club content such as Enclave Weapon Skins, Enclave Armor Skins, Tesla Cannon, Hellfire Power Armor, X-02 Power Armor, and the Heavy Incinerator.

For players seeking unconventional weaponry, the Makeshift Weapon Pack offers a range of deadly objects transformed into weapons, including a baseball launcher, nail gun, and even a piggy bank. And for those in the Halloween spirit, the Halloween Workshop provides 38 new spooky decorations, perfect for adding a touch of fright to settlements year-round.

Future Creation Club Content

For those eagerly awaiting more Fallout 4 Creation Club Content, there's promising news on the horizon. There's still unreleased creation club content waiting in the wings, hinting at exciting additions to come. Following Bethesda's release of Skyrim Anniversary Edition, which saw a plethora of both new and classic creation club content, expectations are high for Fallout 4. Similar to Skyrim, which has received continued updates featuring player-made 'Creations'—mods crafted by talented creators and sold on Bethesda's Creations market—the potential for additional paid Creation content (or paid mods) for Fallout 4 seems likely. Bethesda's track record suggests that fans can anticipate a similar treatment for Fallout 4, with fresh content enriching the game's experience even further.

Next Gen Upgrades

For players on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, the update introduces native applications tailored for the latest hardware, along with Performance mode and Quality mode settings. These optimizations promise to deliver smoother gameplay experiences, with the potential for up to 60 frames per second and increased resolutions. Additionally, stability improvements and fixes ensure a more seamless journey through the Commonwealth. But the updates extend beyond the next-gen consoles. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players will also receive a free update, addressing stability issues, login problems, and quest fixes, enhancing the overall gameplay experience.

PC players have their share of excitement as well, with Bethesda rolling out updates for various platforms including Steam, Microsoft Store, and GOG. Widescreen and ultra-widescreen support, along with fixes to the Creation Kit (used for mod creation) and quest updates, aim to enrich the Fallout 4 experience on PC. Japanese and Chinese language players will also benefit from resolved login issues on Bethesda.net, granting access to mods and additional content. Adding to the excitement, Fallout 4 will soon be available for purchase on the Epic Games Store, expanding accessibility for players across different platforms. Moreover, the game will be Steam Deck verified, ensuring compatibility with Valve's handheld gaming device.

Fallout 4 Update's Effect on Mods

Its likely the update will break mods that relies on scripts. Unfortunately this means that our Fallout 4 Mod List will break and we will need to wait until we can the mod authors update their mods before we can amend the mod list into a new next gen ready list.

The large modding project Fallout London has a release date of the 23rd April, two days before the Fallout 4 Next Gen Update. Its likely this will effect team FOLN's plans for release, delaying the mod.
