Why Players Pick It

The Relic version adds +16% piercing, bludgeoning and slashing resistance and +40% resistance to burning. Its +500 vitality ties the Relic tourney boots for the highest of any trousers or boots. The Magic version gives +14% piercing and +16% slashing resistance, plus 1 random magic effect. The Master version gives +13% piercing and slashing resistance.

When to Use It

Looted Magic copies are level 46 to 47, and the Relic needs level 48. All are found in Toussaint, so they are late game. Bought copies vary with Geralt's level.

How to Get Toussaint knight's tourney trousers

Relic: during Knight for Hire, defeat Filibert Fourfingers atop Mont Crane Castle. Loot the book-like container on the table near him. It holds this diagram, the tourney boots diagram and a journal. An armorer crafts the trousers.
Magic: loot the chest of Relic diagrams near Loth Halfbreed at Tulasens Caves, or a dead guard near Damien de la Tour at the Cianfanelli Bank during The Night of Long Fangs. All armorers in Toussaint sell them.
Master: all armorers in Toussaint sell them.

Notes

In NG+ the Relic version's level rises by the NG+ starting level, and its armor gains 2 per level.
