Crime and Punishment is a secondary quest in Skellige. On a small beach, Geralt finds a man chained to the rocks as the tide rises around him. The man begs for mercy and swears he was framed for murder. Geralt has to decide whether to believe him.
Crime and Punishment Quest Guide
- Find the man chained to the rocks on a small beach in Skellige.
- Talk to the prisoner.
- Help the prisoner, or leave him to the sea.
- Go to the nearby village, where a group is about to bury the murdered man.
- Talk to the sobbing girl among the mourners.
Choices
Geralt can believe the prisoner and free him from his chains. He can also leave the man chained to the rocks. The waves and the beasts of the sea then finish him off.
The sobbing girl in the village is the prisoner's sister. She blames herself for what happened to her brother. Her false accusations against her uncle drove her brother to kill him in a rage. In Skellige, the punishment for killing a family member in cold blood is a slow death in the sea.
