Deadly Crossing is a set of three secondary quests in Velen. At bridges and crossings across the war-torn land, bandits and looters wait for travelers. Some demand a toll, one group offers a sword for sale, and one attacks on sight.
Deadly Crossing Map Location and Quest Guide
Deadly Crossing map location:
- Ride to Troll Bridge and talk to the bandits who demand a toll.
- Pay the 50 crown toll, use Axii, or fight them.
- After a fight, turn the wheel on the bridge to lower it.
- Visit the long wooden bridge north of Lindenvale while the Nilfgaardian soldiers there are still alive.
- Return later to find looters searching the soldiers' bodies.
- Buy the sword Mourner for 525 crowns, refuse, or kill the looters for it.
- Go to the woods west of Dragonslayer's Grotto.
- Kill the bandits there, who attack as soon as Geralt comes close.

Choices
At Troll Bridge, paying the toll lets Geralt cross in peace. Axii also talks the bandits into letting him pass. A fight leaves the bridge raised, so Geralt must lower it himself.
North of Lindenvale, the looters have found a relic sword called Mourner. Geralt can buy it for 525 crowns or walk away. He can also refuse and kill the looters to take the sword for free.
Notes
- The looters turn hostile at once if Geralt comes near with a sword drawn.
- The bandits west of Dragonslayer's Grotto belong to the Troll Bridge group. They never appear if the Troll Bridge crossing was dealt with more than a few days earlier.
