Loathen is a Relic silver sword with 3 rune slots. It adds +5-20 fire damage and a 12% chance to cause burning. It is random loot, most likely in caves in Velen and Skellige and otherwise at guarded treasures. Its level is set at the moment it drops.
The fire damage and burning chance put fire on top of its silver damage. At level 1 its minimum damage is 90-100 and its maximum is 110-120, rising by about 8.8 per level.
How to Get Loathen
- Search caves in Velen and Skellige, and open guarded treasures.
- It often, but not always, sits at the noonwraith guarded treasure in the mine cave south of Frischlow.
- It also often sits in the chest on the platform in Yustianna's Grotto.
