The Flame of Hatred is a secondary quest in Novigrad. In the streets east of Hierarch Square, a preacher of the Eternal Fire rails against mages, alchemists and witchers. When Geralt comes close, the preacher starts insulting him in person. Talking back has a price a few days later.
The Flame of Hatred Map Location and Quest Guide
The Flame of Hatred map location:
- Walk the streets east of Hierarch Square.
- Listen to the Eternal Fire preacher.
- Answer him: ask how many lives he has saved, threaten him, or just leave.
- Wait a few days after humiliating the preacher.
- Meet the two guards by a well in The Bits.
- Hand over the weapons or refuse.
- Defeat the guards.
- Pick the weapons back up from the guards, if they were handed over.

Choices
Every answer to the preacher earns 10 XP, and the crowd breaks up. If Geralt just leaves, the quest ends there.
If Geralt humiliates the preacher, two guards stop him a few days later. They accuse him of offending religious feeling. Whether he hands over his weapons or not, the guards attack. Without weapons, Geralt has to fight with his fists. Beating them earns 25 XP.
