| Notable Perk | Misdirection |
Pickpocket governs taking items from a person without being caught in Skyrim. Its perks do considerably more than raise the success chance.
More Than Stealing Coins
Four perks change what is possible rather than how likely it is.
- Misdirection allows stealing an equipped weapon, which disarms an opponent before a fight starts.
- Perfect Touch extends that to equipped armour.
- Poisoned lets you place a poison in a target's pocket, killing silently.
- Extra Pockets raises your own carrying capacity by a hundred, which is why non-thieves take it.
How Chance Is Calculated
Success depends on the skill level, the weight and value of the item, and whether the target is asleep or in combat. Heavy and valuable items are far harder than a stack of coins, and Night Thief improves the odds against sleeping targets.
What The Perks Unlock
Eight perks, twelve points.
| Perk | Effect |
|---|---|
| Light Fingers | Better success chance, five ranks |
| Night Thief | Better odds on sleeping targets |
| Misdirection | Steal equipped weapons |
| Perfect Touch | Steal equipped armour |
| Poisoned | Place poison for a silent kill |
| Extra Pockets | +100 carrying capacity |
