The gas lingers where the bomb lands. Once ignited, the whole cloud explodes. This makes it useful against groups.

Brew it from the alchemy menu, outside combat, with 1 Saltpeter and 2 Phosphorus.
Meditate with strong alcohol such as Dwarven Spirit, Alcohest or White Gull in the inventory to refill its charges.
