Ship hab (habitat) modules provide an extra room in your ships like crew battle stations, armoires, captain's quarters, and more. Different hab modules can provide various features, like workshops equipped with armor, weapon crafting stations, a research lab so you can research projects while exploring, armoury's where you can display weapons and armor set display or and storage rooms, brigs, or living spaces for crew members.

AIO Berths

AIO Berths (All-In-One Berths) typically contain a sleeping area, medpack access, kitchen diner, toilets, limited storage space, relaxation area and one even has a navigation console that functions as a map. The AIO habs vary in size from 2x1, 2x2 and 3x1 but all fufill the needs of a compact living quatres on any size ship.

Armories

The Armory Habs are fitted with weapon cases (small, medium and large), helmet stands, pack racks, armor set displays, weapon racks and sometimes a brig. All the armory habs come in a 2x1 size that are varied in functionality and useable space.

The Hopetech armory hab which contains a prison cells gives up allot of weapon storage space, but with the advantage that you do not need to have a brig to include the prison in your ship. The Nova Galactic armory hab is the only module to contain glass case mannequin armor display cases.

Battle Stations

The Battle station Habs main purpose is to add 6 additional crew space, beyond that it has the appearance of a command control station with limited gameplay functionality.

Battle Stations are thematically setup as command centres that come fitted with multiple terminals and data screens for your crew to use. Only the navigation console serves a gameplay purpose.

Brigs

The Brig Hab in Starfield function as prisons. They contain a reception desk, multiple prison cells with bunk beds and toilets, terminals to control the prison doors. All the brigs are 2x2 in size.

Unfortunately the prisoner bounty hunter system was cut at launch so the brig serves no gameplay purpose without the assistance of mods.

Captain's Quarters

The Captain's Quarter Habs are fitted with a single bed, desk, toilet, compact kitchen refreshments area, dining, relaxation area and some storage containers. They all come in the 2x1 size.

Computer Cores

The Computer Core Habs are fitted with multiple computer terminals, screens, dire cable management and limited storage. The Computer core habs don’t serve a gamelay function.

Control Stations

The Control Station Habs main purpose is to add 4 additional crew stations within a compact 2x1 format. They come equipped with control stations, kitchen, desks, and some limited storage.

The Nova Galactic control station comes with a 150 storage container and has the best ship hab layout.

Engineering Bays

Thematically Engineering Bay Habs house the ships engines so they can be serviced and monitored. Beyond that they don’t have any gameplay relevance aside from adding 1 crew station slot.

Engineering Bay Habs are mostly available in 3x1, apart from Deimos Engineering Bay hab that have both 2x2 and 3x1 available.

Infirmaries

The Infirmary Habs function as mobile hospitals within your ship.

Infirmary Habs come with both the pharmaceutical station where you can craft med packs easily and a research station that can be used to research armor and weapon mods on the go.

The Nova Galactic Infirmary has the most realistic design layout.

Living Quarters

The Living Quarters Habs add two additonal crew space to your ship. They all contain Galleys for cooking food and drink to level up your Nutrition Skill.

Thematically they contain an additional bed, seating, dining area kitchen, punching bags, The Deimos also contains a 150 storage container though the layout is quite boring.

Science Labs

The Science Lab Habs function as research centres within your ship. They come with both the pharmaceutical station where you can craft med packs easily and a research station that can be used to research armor and weapon mods on the go.

Workshops

The Workshop Habs are fitted with all the crafting stations in Starfield: Spacesuit workbench weapon workbench, industry workbench and armor workbench. Since you can use resources from your ships hold while crafting its a very useful space for levelling your crafting skills.

The Stroud Eklund workshop comes with a research station in addiotn to all the crafting stations making it the most functional space available. The Nova Galactic has the best looking workshop design.
