The Anti-Materiel Rifle is a Unique Rifle weapon Fallout 4. This legendary weapon functions as a bolt-action rifle using .50 Caliber ammunition. It is known for delivering significant damage with each shot but has a relatively slow firing rate because of its bolt-action design. The rifle allows for certain modifications, including enhanced magazines to increase ammo capacity, though it lacks the capability for quick eject magazine mods, which means using these enhanced magazines leads to higher action point costs during use. Additionally, it can be adapted to shoot .38 Rounds, making it more versatile, although it cannot be altered to use .308 Rounds.
How to get the Anti-Materiel Rifle
The Anti-Materiel Rifle was originally added by the Fallout 4 Creation Club DLC, Anti-Materiel Rifle. This was later included within the Fallout 4 Next Gen Update as a free addition to the base game.
You can obtain three types of Anti Material Rifles, two of which are legendary versions of the weapon with a unique appearance.
To obtain the Anti-Material Rifle in Fallout 4 you must complete the quest The The Paper Mirror, this can be done by following the quest walkthrough guide below:
- To start the quest the player must Investigate the Museum of Witchcraft near Salem. Inside the museum a note can be found within a display case that instructs the player to go to the Dugout Inn in Diamond City where they will find a bounty notice for a raider named Zane.
- Zane is marked as an objective on your map but is already dead once you reach him. He can be looted for another note that informs you about 3 other gang members that were working with Zane.
- To get the Legendary Anti-Materiel Rifle you must track down the second gang member, Connor. Connor can be found at Camp Kendall alongside his new gang members. They will turn hostile on sight. Once Connor is defeated you can obtain his legendary Anti-Materiel Rifle. Connors rifle has unique NCR engraving.
You can also obtain another Legendary Anti-Material Rifle from Daisy in Goodneighbor. It must be purchased from her but the weapon features a unique texture on its receiver. The bottom half of it is rusted, there's more wear and tear and the section near the bolt features an engraving that reads "BIG MONSTER KILLING MACHINE" and a kill tally etched into the metal. Like the NCR engraving, it doesn't appear on other variants of the anti-materiel rifle.
Alternatively you can purchase normal Anti-Materiel Rifle from most vendors in Fallout 4.
