Choices

At the hut, the Witch of Lynx Crag gives Geralt three paths. He can bow and ask for her help, as the knight did in the tale. The witch then explains how to free the woman in the tree. Daphne's spirit leaves this world at peace, and Jacob pays 100 crowns.

Geralt can also try to lift the curse on his own. Without Sir Gareth's bone, Daphne's ghost comes out crazed with pain. Geralt then has to fight her wraith.

The third path is to threaten the witch. Geralt has to defeat her in combat, and she promises to free the woman. Her promise is a trick. Back at the tree, Jacob lies dead. The crazed ghost killed him. Geralt follows the tracks and must kill Morholt. This path leaves 123 florens beside Jacob's body instead of the crowns.
