Barnabas-Basil Foulty is the majordomo of Corvo Bianco, the vineyard estate Geralt receives in Toussaint. He runs the house and oversees every repair and upgrade. Geralt meets him on his first visit to the estate in the quest No Place Like Home.
Lore
Barnabas-Basil has served distinguished nobles all his life. His past employers include the Kniebihly family and Admiral Rompally. He would never work for anyone who hurt his personal dignity.
Barnabas-Basil remembers the days of Monsieur Bolius and Baron Rossell at Corvo Bianco. He is full of stories about the vineyard's past. He knows every corner and every secret of the estate.
Story
Anna Henrietta grants Corvo Bianco to Geralt and places it in the care of this majordomo. In No Place Like Home, Barnabas-Basil gives Geralt a tour of the run-down estate. The vineyard needs a great deal of work before it can shine again. Barnabas-Basil proves an expert in running a household and a fine administrator. He offers sound advice on how to modernize the estate. Geralt pays for each renovation through him, and the work takes time to finish. One of the renovations uncovers a hidden laboratory in the cellar.
In The Hunger Game, Geralt brings a woman named Marlene to live at Corvo Bianco. She takes over the kitchen. This is good news, because the majordomo is a hopeless cook. He has burned several pots of water in his time.
Relationships
Barnabas-Basil serves Geralt as the new master of Corvo Bianco, and Geralt could not hope for better help. Entrusting the estate to this majordomo may be the finest gift Anna Henrietta ever gave the witcher.
