Choices

Tavar Eggebracht asks for 150 crowns to talk. Geralt can pay, or use Axii at Delusion level 2. If Contract: Patrol Gone Missing was completed without investigating further, the quartermaster tells the truth for free. He reveals that Hrodeberth and his group tried to desert. Some were caught and hanged, while the others fled into the swamps.

At the end, Geralt can tell the mother that her son died in battle. He can also tell her the truth, that Hrodeberth deserted. She thanks him and pays the same reward either way.
