Type	Character
Location	Novigrad
DLC	Base game

Chappelle is the Chancellor of Security for the Church of the Eternal Fire in Novigrad. The real Chappelle died years ago, and a doppler took his place under his name. Geralt sees him burned at the stake in Hierarch Square during the quest Pyres of Novigrad.

Lore

---

Geralt and Dandelion have long known this secret. They told no one, since the change was good for everyone. The doppler proved a reasonable creature without the real Chappelle's cruelty. Under his watch, life in Novigrad got much better.

Story

---

The chancellor's gentle style raises suspicions as a wave of terror and persecution rises over Novigrad. Caleb Menge, who serves under him in the Temple Guard, unmasks him as a doppler. The doppler is arrested and burned at the stake for the glory of the Eternal Fire. Geralt arrives in Hierarch Square in time to see the execution. Felicia Cori, a young sorceress, burns beside him.

Relationships

---

Caleb Menge is the man who exposes him and lights his pyre. Geralt and Dandelion kept his secret for a long time.
