Dandelion is a bard and poet, and one of Geralt's closest friends. He tells Geralt's story in the game's journal. At the start of the game Dandelion has gone missing in Novigrad, and Geralt's search for him is part of the search for Ciri. Once free, he turns his tavern in Novigrad into a cabaret.

His friends and admirers describe Dandelion as a talented poet and troubadour. He is a graduate of Oxenfurt Academy and often performs at royal courts. They also call him a great lover, adored by ladies all over the world, as well as a skilled negotiator and a stirring speaker. Dandelion admits this picture is a little too bright. He prefers to see himself as an artist devoted to his Muse.

Dandelion is a close friend and steadfast companion of Geralt. Spiteful tongues once said the witcher would be better off cutting his throat. Dandelion puts that down to pure jealousy. He was with Geralt in hard times and good, and he sees it as his duty to write down the next chapter of the witcher's deeds. Years ago, the two of them met the dwarf Zoltan Chivay in war-torn Riverdell, and the three have been friends ever since.

Dandelion inherited a Novigrad establishment, the Rosemary and Thyme, from an admirer of his poetry. He runs it with Zoltan.

Story

Ciri reached out to Dandelion while she was in Novigrad. When it came to helping her, he did not hesitate to cross Whoreson Junior, one of the bosses of the city's underworld. He planned to rob a treasure from Sigi Reuven, a crime lord better known to Geralt as Sigismund Dijkstra. Then Dandelion vanished.

Geralt drops everything to find him. At the Rosemary and Thyme he finds Zoltan, who knows no more than he does. The trail leads through Dandelion's many lady friends to Priscilla, a famous singer, and then to the treasure of Sigi Reuven. In the end Dandelion and Ciri are cornered by the Temple Guard. Dandelion defends her escape to the very last, then lets the guards take him. He is thrown in the dungeons on Temple Isle and then sent to Deireadh, the prison of Oxenfurt, to await execution.

His friends plan to ambush the prison transport. The ambush only half works, because a guard flees with Dandelion on his horse. Geralt catches up and breaks him free. In return, Dandelion tells what he knows of Ciri's time in Novigrad.

Afterwards Dandelion follows an old dream. With Priscilla's support, he remodels the Rosemary and Thyme into a cabaret called the Chameleon. On the night of the grand opening, word comes that Priscilla has been badly wounded in an attack and lies close to death. This begins the quest Carnal Sins.

Geralt is Dandelion's dearest friend. Zoltan Chivay is a fellow friend and his business partner. Priscilla is a singer close to his heart. Dandelion risked his life for Ciri, and he gets into trouble with Whoreson Junior and with Sigismund Dijkstra on her behalf.
