Hazardous Goods is a secondary quest in Velen. On a muddy road near Lurtch, a man lies trapped under his overturned cart. He makes his living hauling the bodies of plague victims, and ghouls have come for the corpses. Geralt decides to help him. The man is sure that no sickness can touch him.
Hazardous Goods Quest Guide
- Find the overturned cart on the road near Lurtch.
- Kill the ghouls around the cart.
- Talk to the trapped man, Gert Borel.
- Urge Gert to burn the cart and the bodies, or leave him be.
- Set the cart on fire with Igni before leaving the area.
- Some weeks later, find Gert again between Reardon Manor and Benek.
- Grant or refuse Gert's last request.
Choices
Geralt can urge Gert to burn the cart and the bodies. He also tells Gert to burn his clothes and scrub himself clean. Gert shrugs the advice off and insists he never gets ill.
When Geralt meets Gert again, the man is dying of the plague. He begs Geralt to end his misery. Geralt can refuse. He can also agree and kill Gert, which pays 25 XP. The body can then be burned like the other plague victims.
