Margarita Laux-Antille is a sorceress and a member of the Lodge of Sorceresses. Her friends call her Rita. Witch hunters hold her in the prison of Deireadh. Geralt and Yennefer break her out in the main quest The Great Escape.

Lore

---

Margarita once served as rector of Aretuza, the academy for sorceresses on the Isle of Thanedd. Her famous ancestor, Ilona Laux-Antille, studied at the same school. Her gifts of mind, spirit and body could fill a mountain of parchment.

Unlike most of her kind, Margarita had no interest in politics. Only her care for her school led her to join the Lodge of Sorceresses. Her beauty was famous too. People said that not even the finest statues of goddesses and nymphs could match her figure.

Even so, Margarita could not escape the fate of so many mages. She was arrested some time before the story begins. She now waits in prison for a short trial whose verdict is already decided.

Story

---

Yennefer sets out to gather the former members of the Lodge, and it falls to her to bring Margarita to Novigrad. Her old friend is held in Deireadh, the best-guarded prison this side of the Yaruga. To get her out, Geralt and Yennefer have to break into the sealed compound.

Yennefer has a lead: the one man who ever escaped from Deireadh. The two meet him at Crippled Kate's. He tries to run, but they catch him, and he tells them how to get past the guards. Geralt then climbs into the prison and fights his way to the cells. Margarita tells him that the warden carries the key to her cell. Geralt kills the warden and takes the key, and Yennefer frees her friend.

Margarita leaves Deireadh in a very sorry state. Still, knowing that she is free and will not die on a pyre gives her strength. Yennefer cares for her tenderly, and everyone hopes she will recover quickly.

Relationships

---

Yennefer of Vengerberg is her long-time friend. Síle de Tansarville, another member of the Lodge, may share her prison.
