Race: The Great Erasmus Vegelbud Memorial Derby is a secondary quest near Novigrad. The Vegelbud family holds a series of horse races at its country estate in honour of an ancestor, Erasmus. Geralt enters for the prize money. His riding catches the eye of the crime lord Cleaver, who has one more race in mind.
Race: The Great Erasmus Vegelbud Memorial Derby Quest Guide
- Finish most of Get Junior, then find the announcer in Hierarch Square.
- Take An Invitation to the Memorial Derby from the table and read it.
- Go to the Vegelbud Residence and talk to the master of ceremonies.
- Pay the 100 crown fee and beat the first rider.
- Pay the fee again and beat the second rider.
- Pay the fee a third time and beat Luc Vegelbud in the rain, keeping to the set path.
- Go downstairs and take the message from Cleaver's man.
- Read the letter, then talk to Cleaver in Novigrad.
- Agree to ride for Cleaver in the Palio when ready.
- Be the first past the finish line, racing across Grassy Knoll and back.

Notes
- Every race costs 100 crowns to enter and runs a long route, so watch Roach's stamina.
- The Palio starts as soon as Geralt agrees to ride for Cleaver.
- The temple guard breaks up the Palio at the end, win or lose.
