Stamina

Stamina is the main bar Geralt spends to cast Signs. Each Sign needs enough Stamina to cast. Armor weight, potions and skills change how fast it refills.

How It Works

  • Casting a Sign costs Stamina.
  • Holding Whirl drains Stamina, then Adrenaline.
  • Rend deals extra damage in proportion to the Stamina it consumes.
  • Holding Quen's Active Shield and blocking with it drains Stamina.
  • The Ekhidna Decoction makes actions that use Stamina regenerate Vitality.
  • Roach has her own Stamina bar, used only while galloping.

Stamina Regen

  • Light armor gives the best Stamina regen. Heavy armor slows it.
  • Fast Stamina regen from light armor lets Geralt recast Quen several times in a fight.
  • The Levity glyphword makes all worn armor count as light, so it gets light armor's Stamina regen.
  • The Tawny Owl potion gives +5% Stamina regen in combat.

Skills

Remastered rebuilt the skill trees with three ranks per skill. Every Sign skill gives +0.5 Stamina regen per second in combat at rank 1. Other rank 1 values:

  • Sun and Stars: +1 Stamina per second in combat at night.
  • Sidestep: after a successful dodge or roll, the next Sign costs 20% less Stamina.
  • Anger Management: when Stamina is empty, Signs cost 2 Adrenaline Points instead.
  • Active Shield: holding and blocking with the shield drains Stamina at the full rate.
