Lucia Caminos is one of the two protagonists of Grand Theft Auto VI. She grew up in Liberty City and learned to fight from a very young age. Standing up for her family landed her in the Leonida Penitentiary. Once free, she teams up with Jason Duval for a life of crime. Lucia is the first fully voiced female lead in the Grand Theft Auto series. She wants the good life her mother always dreamed of, and she means to take it.
Lucia’s father taught her to fight as soon as she could walk.
Story
Fighting for her family put her behind bars in the Leonida Penitentiary. Inside, she deals with Stefanie, her correctional social worker. The two meet in Stefanie's office at the prison. Sheer luck got Lucia out of prison again. She left with one clear lesson: only smart moves from now on.
Lucia and her mother once lived in Liberty City, her hometown. Her mother has dreamed of a better life since those days. Lucia does not wait for that life to arrive. She is ready to take matters into her own hands. Fresh out of prison, she is determined to change the odds in her favour. She commits to her plan, whatever it takes. Lucia refuses to let any obstacle stand between her and a better life. She goes on the run with a hopeful and naive streak. She pushes her crime spree to its limit without worrying about the consequences.
Jason Duval drives to the prison to collect her when she walks free. The two of them quickly rekindle their romance. Lucia sees a life with Jason as a possible way out. Together they pull off robberies across the state of Leonida. She and Jason hold up a convenience store and a diner. Then an easy score goes wrong and drags the couple into a statewide conspiracy.
Lucia and Jason make a pick-up for the Vice City mogul Boobie Ike. The goods come from a dealer named Raymond. A police raid led by the officer Mendez turns that errand into a gunfight. Lucia already knows who Mendez is. She and Jason cover each other as they shoot their way out of the building.
Back at their apartment, Lucia takes her time choosing an outfit for a party. Jason waits for her and worries about being late. At the party, Brian Heder offers a shady job that only one of them can take. Lucia volunteers for the job and heads out alone that night. The job turns into a getaway for the bank robber Raul Bautista. Lucia takes the wheel while Jason shoots at the police from the back seat. Raul asks her whether she is a professional as she fights to lose the chase. After the chase, she sets fire to their car, and the three switch to a van. Raul then tells the pair to keep their phones on.
The couple also work as bodyguards for the media executive Andrés de León. Valentina hires them for the job on his behalf. They meet Andrés at the airport and drive him to the opening of Megamundo's new headquarters. A security guard takes Lucia's guns before the party starts. When an armed gang attacks the building, Lucia has to fight with her bare hands. Jason creates a distraction so that she can slip away. The two keep in touch by text message as the fight goes on. Lucia stabs one attacker with her high heel.
Relationships
Jason Duval is Lucia's partner in crime across Leonida. Their bond can become a romance or stay a practical partnership. Either way, the two remain partners in crime and watch each other's backs. How close they grow shapes the way their story plays out. Lucia and Jason sometimes walk hand in hand.
Her father is the one who taught her to fight. Her mother's dream of a good life drives her ambition. Raul Bautista acts as an older mentor who brings the pair into bigger heists. Brian Heder and Boobie Ike both hand out work to the couple.
Location
Lucia spent her early years in Liberty City, far from Leonida. Her story in Leonida opens inside the Leonida Penitentiary. After prison she shares a home with Jason. Her jobs take her across Vice City and the wider state of Leonida.
