Valkyrie
The Valkyrie is the first thing a new Viking sees: the winged shape that carries you out of the sky and sets you down in the Meadows beside a ring of standing stones.
Lore
The Valkyrie appears once per character, at the moment the world begins. She carries you into the tenth world the way the myth says she carries the dead, sets you down among the standing stones, and leaves.
The Fallen Valkyrie of the Ashlands is a different creature that shares the name, and that one does want to kill you.
Where to Find Them
Above the standing stones where a new character lands.
