Not all of the winged figures that carried you to Valheim made it out again. The Fallen Valkyrie is one of them: decayed but still airborne over the Ashlands, drifting above the ash on slow wings until something on the ground looks worth diving at. She is far from the most common mob in the biome, but she is the one that reaches you just when you were sure you had put enough distance between yourself and the fighting.
Behaviour
A Fallen Valkyrie spends most of her time hovering well above the ground, moving between nearby points in what looks more like a patrol than a hunt. That altitude is the whole problem. She spots you long before the ground-bound charred do, and she comes down on her schedule, not yours. She almost always opens with her spit: three projectiles lobbed from height that burst into circles of fire and poison on impact and leave both Burning and Poison on anything standing in them. She keeps spitting every ten seconds or so for as long as she is happy to stay high. Once she closes in, she switches to a fast claw rake with heavy slash and pierce damage that comes round again every three seconds. Her spin sweeps a five and a half metre circle and is the hardest single hit in her kit. She does not sleep, call allies or flee when wounded, but she does break off and regain altitude between passes. That turns the fight into a run of short, violent exchanges instead of one long trade. She has no star variants and cannot be tamed.
Where to Find It
Fallen Valkyries belong to the Ashlands and spawn across the open ash and lava fields at any hour, day or night. They are an uncommon spawn and the game keeps only one in a given area at a time, so you meet them singly, not in flights. Usually the first sign is a shape circling overhead while you are already busy with something worse. Because they fly, they cross terrain that would otherwise shelter you, and they will follow you over lava and onto ground the charred cannot reach. The usual Ashlands trick of putting a molten river between yourself and the enemy is useless against them. Nothing gates them beyond reaching the biome, which means sailing a drakkar south through the boiling sea once The Queen is dead. With no star levels, every one you ever face has the same fifteen hundred health and the same cooldowns.

Strengths and Weaknesses
Her altitude decides the fight. While she is high, she is a bow or crossbow target and nothing else. Her spit projectiles travel slowly enough to sidestep if you watch the sky instead of the ground, so shooting her down from behind cover is by far the cleanest approach. Spirit damage hurts her badly, which makes the Mistlands staffs and any spirit-enchanted weapon far better here than their raw numbers suggest, and a loadout built around it is worth it before you go Valkyrie hunting on purpose. Leave the fire weapons in the chest, because everything living in the Ashlands shrugs those off. In melee she can be parried, and a parry rolled into a two-handed swing is the most damage you will land all fight. Her spin hits hard enough, though, that one bad read in anything short of a full black metal or flametal set means a corpse run. Stay out of her spit pools while you trade. Do not take the fight at all with a Morgen or a charred patrol within earshot, because the noise will bring them onto you mid-exchange.
Drops
Celestial feathers are the reason to pick this fight on purpose. Nothing else in the world drops them, and both the Staff of the Wild and the Dundr need them.
