Anathema is a Relic silver sword with 3 rune slots. It rolls +5-15% Aard and +5-15% Quen sign intensity, with a 10% chance to cause burning. It is looted from the royal wyvern during Contract: Phantom of the Trade Route, north of Benek in Velen. Since its level is rolled on the drop, it suits any stage of the game.
Two sign bonuses make it a fit for a signs build that uses Aard and Quen. It also rolls +5-21% crit damage for its sword hits. Each copy rolls its own values inside these ranges.
How to Get Anathema
- Take Contract: Phantom of the Trade Route, north of Benek in Velen.
- Loot Anathema from the royal wyvern.
- It also turns up as extremely rare random loot.
Anathema Map Location and Quest Guide
The pin marks Contract: Phantom of the Trade Route, given by a refugee in Benek in Velen. The relic Anathema drops from the royal wyvern that nests on the heights above the refugees' cave.
- Talk to the refugee in Benek, or take the contract from the Benek notice board.
- Head north along the road to the ransacked caravan and examine the clues there.
- Follow the wine scent northeast to a large cave with a body at the entrance.
- Talk to the survivors hiding below the ledge inside. They reveal that the culprit is a royal wyvern.
- Head south and climb the ramp to the top, minding the gap at the first ledge.
- Kill the wyverns and destroy their nests to draw out the royal wyvern.
- Kill the royal wyvern and loot it for Anathema.
