Fools' Gold is a secondary quest in Velen. In the nearly empty village of Lurtch, a few bandits are roasting a hog while the village fool, Yontek, begs them to stop. Velen is gripped by famine, and the people ate their animals long ago. Yet the village huts are full of pigs. Geralt soon suspects that the pigs are the villagers themselves, under a curse.

Choices
At the start, Geralt can walk away from the bandits instead of stopping them. That ends the quest before it begins.
At the hog hut, the curse lifts and the pigs turn back into people. The villagers had robbed the treasury of a forgotten god, and were turned into hogs for it. As soon as they can speak, they blame Yontek. Geralt can defend him from the lynch mob. Geralt can also step aside and let the villagers have Yontek, which pays 100 crowns.
