Lore

---

A wave of killings driven by faith and race hatred swept through Novigrad. It came during Hubert Rejk's time as coroner. The work left him overworked. He also had to put up with his unpleasant superior, Reverend Nathaniel Pastodi. Rejk and the hospital doctor Joachim von Gratz clearly have bad blood between them.

Story

---

In Carnal Sins, Priscilla is brutally attacked, and Geralt sets out to find her attacker. He and Joachim von Gratz go to the morgue to examine the body of an earlier victim. Rejk interrupts them, and Reverend Nathaniel soon throws them out. Rejk comes across as sarcastic and unpleasant at first. Once he learns why Geralt has come, he offers his help.

Rejk later calls Geralt back to the morgue to examine the killer's latest victim. During the examination, he finds a note naming the next target. The trail leads Geralt first to the Vegelbud estate and then to Crippled Kate's, a brothel where a woman named Sweet Nettie is said to be the next victim. There Geralt finds Reverend Nathaniel torturing Nettie with a white-hot poker.

If Geralt kills Nathaniel at once, the blame falls on the reverend, just as Rejk intended. If Geralt talks to Nathaniel first, he learns that Rejk is the real murderer. Geralt finds Rejk in a warehouse by the docks. There the coroner reveals that he is a powerful vampire. He claims to kill sinners for the faith of the Eternal Fire. He then takes the form of a katakan and attacks. Geralt kills him after a very hard fight, avenging Priscilla and ending his twisted crusade.
