Monster Slayer is a secondary quest in the valley around Kaer Morhen. It starts at a drowner corpse on the lake shore near the Lakeside Hut. The body bears no marks of a sword or a Sign, so something else killed it. Geralt tracks down the killer, an old rock troll, and finds a letter about the Salamandra attack on the fortress.
