Ogroids

Ogroids are huge, strong brutes. They range from mountain Trolls and one-eyed Cyclopses to giants taller than a tree. The Nekkers that swarm the woods in colonies are Ogroids too. Several of them see men as a meal, but a few can reason and even speak.

Rock Trolls look like walking stones and live high in the mountains. They use fire and simple tools, and some have learned the basics of Common Speech. They love riddles, so a meeting with one can end without a fight. Their cousins, the Ice Trolls, live on remote frozen ridges and are crueler and stronger. Wham-a-Wham is a Troll that keeps a cave near Blandare on Ard Skellig.

Cyclopses have a single eye in the forehead and a burning hatred of humans. The Ice Giant is blue as frost and quite possibly the last of its race. It rules the island of Undvik. Legend says Golyat was once the knight Luis Alberni, until the Lady of the Lake turned the knight into a giant.

Nekkers dig burrows linked by tunnels in damp, misty valleys. A lone Nekker is harmless, but a large pack can kill even a veteran monster slayer. Hagubman leads a pack near Larvik.

Witchers coat their blades with Ogroid Oil. Quen soaks up the crushing blows of Trolls, Cyclopses and giants. Trolls have armored backs, so the fight has to be taken head on. Northern Wind bombs break up a Nekker pack, and Nekkers are weak to every Sign.
