The Rock Troll is an Ogroid that lives high in the mountains. To a traveler it looks like a walking stone.
Lore
Rock Trolls are not very smart, but they can think. They use fire and simple tools. Some have even learned the basics of Common Speech. Grammar escapes them, yet they love riddles, rhymes and all kinds of wordplay. A witcher with a quick wit can use that to avoid a fight.
A troll living in a cave on Undvik once laid down its rules for visitors. Visitors must speak in riddles and play no tricks. Otherwise the troll smashes their heads.
Not every meeting with a troll ends in a fight. Still, it pays to draw a sword and be ready for the worst. Otherwise a mountain hike may end in a troll's stew instead of on the summit.
Weaknesses
Coat the blade with Ogroid Oil and keep Quen up. A Rock Troll throws stones with great strength and shocking accuracy, so running away is no escape. Its heavy fists can dent the sturdiest breastplate or cuirass.
A layer of rocky growth covers its back. Blows from behind bounce off it, so the troll must be fought face to face. Land two or three fast attacks, then stop. The troll raises an arm to shield itself and deflects every blow that hits the guard. Step aside before its counter lands, then repeat.
