Pawn Knowledge and Quests

Pawns carry knowledge from their travels in other worlds and put it to use in the Arisen's world. A pawn that knows a quest can lead the way to its objective, and pawns also point out hidden treasure. In return, the Arisen can send the main pawn off with pawn quests of its own.

Quest Guidance

A pawn that has learned a quest elsewhere offers to guide the Arisen through it. The offer comes for the quest the Arisen is tracking as the priority quest. Giving the "Go!" command accepts the offer, and the pawn then leads the way or helps with the task. Riftstones in settlements can search for pawns by quest knowledge, which helps with objectives that are hard to find.

Treasure and Exploration

Pawns show where hidden treasure chests lie. A pawn that spots something of interest calls it out, and the "Go!" command sends it to open chests, work mechanisms or gather from nearby spots.

Enemy Knowledge

Experienced pawns know how to beat the monsters they have fought before. They call out weaknesses during battle.

Pawn Quests

A pawn quest is a task the Arisen sets for the main pawn to complete in other worlds. The Arisen also sets the reward, either items from the inventory or a sum of gold, for the Arisen who helps the pawn finish it. Pawn quests bring in items and pawn badges, so it pays to have the main pawn hired often. Pawn quests are set at any riftstone, and setting one earns the achievement Wish upon the Rift. Hiring another Arisen's pawn that carries a pawn quest, and completing it, earns that quest's reward.

Shepherd of the Pawns Quest Guide

1. With Halls of the First Dawn under way, travel to the Excavation Site in the Unmoored World.
2. Help Henrique defeat the Golem at the gates, then speak to him to start the quest.
3. Follow Henrique to the pawns held in the gaol, who refuse to leave the site.
4. Take the Overseers' Lodge Key from Henrique.
5. Unlock the overseers' lodge near the inn and pick up the Diminished Godsway.
6. Bring the Diminished Godsway back to Henrique to free the pawns and complete the quest.
