In Dragon's Dogma 2, the Arisen is the character that you control as the player.

Arisen Origin Story

In Dragon's Dogma 2, the player assumes the role of the Arisen, a title bestowed by a dragon to those demonstrating exceptional bravery and resolve, often tested in direct combat. This dragon not only challenges but also consumes the heart of the chosen, granting them a second life filled with extraordinary vigor and power. Endowed with these abilities, the Arisen embarks on a quest to decipher the enigmas of their bestowed title, navigate the complex political landscape, understand the dragon's motives, and ultimately, uncover their own destiny.

Arisen Character Creation

The Arisen is a fully customizable character. You can create your Arisen from scratch or from a template, and you can choose to create a human, elf, or beastren race. Each of these races has two body types, nine base bodies per type, and countless heads on which facial features can be tweaked. You can also choose your Arisen's starting vocation, such as thief, mage, fighter, or archer. Later you can unlock Hybrid Vocations which are exclusive to the Arisen.

In addition to your Arisen, you also create your main Pawn, a AI (computer-controlled) companion that always accompanies you on your quests. You can also hire two additional Pawns from other players.
