Category:Dragon's Dogma 2 - Pawns

In Dragon's Dogma 2 players are introduced to an innovative companion system known as Pawns. These AI-controlled allies are more than just followers, they are essential to your journey in a world filled with mystique and danger. This page will explain how the Pawn system works and how to get the most out of your Pawn.

Pawn Party System

At the heart of your quest, you, as the Arisen, can lead a party consisting of your main custom Pawn and up to two additional Pawns borrowed from other players via the online network. Your main Pawn is fully customizable, from appearance to skills, ensuring they align closely with your play style. This main Pawn remains by your side throughout your journey, learning and evolving based on experiences gathered from your adventures and those they embark on with other players.

The addition of two extra Pawns from the online community adds a rich layer of strategy and diversity to your party. These Pawns bring with them knowledge and skills acquired in their own creators' journeys, offering insights and assistance that reflect a collective multiplayer experience within the single-player adventure of "Dragon's Dogma 2." This is the only multiplayer Coop aspect of Dragons Dogma 2.

Specializations and Dragonsplague

Pawns in "Dragon's Dogma 2" are not just about combat prowess; they also come with unique specializations that can influence gameplay in significant ways. For example, a Pawn with the specialization in Elvish can decipher the language, unlocking new dialogues and quest opportunities. The introduction of specializations adds depth to Pawns' personalities, making them invaluable companions on your quest.

An intriguing aspect of the Pawn system is the Dragonsplague, a mysterious condition that affects Pawns. Rather than hindering them, it enhances their abilities, making them bolder and more effective in combat. However, there's a dark side to this boon, with folklore suggesting catastrophic consequences at its zenith.

Pawn Customization and The Rift

"Dragon's Dogma 2" expands on the Pawn system, offering a deeper level of Pawn customization. Players can tailor their main Pawn's appearance, choose their starting class (Vocation), teach them skills, spells, and equip them with gear, creating a truly personalized ally. The vocations available, including Fighters, Archers, Thieves, Mages, Warriors, and Sorcerers, ensure that you can mold your Pawn to fit any combat role that your party needs.

To add additional Pawns to your party, players use The Rift, an online lobby where you can select from Pawns created by other players. This system not only enhances your strategic options but also connects you with the broader "Dragon's Dogma 2" community, allowing for the sharing of Pawns and the knowledge they possess. It costs Rift Crystals to purchase pawns, the cost depends on their level compared to your Arisin's level.
