Beastman of Farum Azula is a dungeon boss in Elden Ring.
The Beastman of Farum Azula is an armored, wolf-like warrior with a huge iron cleaver. The first one hides at the end of Groveside Cave in Limgrave, among the bodies of fallen Godrick soldiers. A tougher pair, one with a cleaver and one with throwing knives, guards the depths of Dragonbarrow Cave. Both fights reward a Flamedrake Talisman that guards against fire.
Lore
The beastman stands on two legs like a great, furred wolf, clad in heavy plate. It swings a colossal curved cleaver of dull iron as if it weighed nothing.
The beastmen come from doomed Farum Azula, the crumbling ruins that drift in the sky. Those ruins are said to be a giant tomb that enshrines an ancient dragon. Chosen beastmen guard it with weapons clad in lightning.
Their cleavers are incredibly heavy but well balanced, which hints at knowledge beyond human ken. The beastmen also fire tall earthenware jars for the sole purpose of turning them into shields.

Weaknesses

Attacks
- Double Swing: two horizontal cleaver swings, one handed or two handed; roll away or parry the first swing, and avoid blocking.
- Cleaver Stab: it pulls the cleaver back and thrusts; roll to the right to avoid the follow up.
- Overhead Slam: a straight downward chop; roll to the right.
- Spinning Slice: a full clockwise spin ending in a slash; roll right as the spin finishes.
- Barbaric Roar: a roar that hurts anything close; roll back and prepare for the combo that follows.
- Six-Hit Combo: four wide swings, a rising cut and a final slam; keep away for most of it and roll in after the final slam.
- Two-Hand Slam: a long wind up, then a jump and a heavy slam; wait before rolling, then land several hits.
- Throwing Knives: the second Dragonbarrow beastman throws pairs of knives from range; block or roll forward through them.
Tactics
- Bring a torch, since Groveside Cave is dark.
- Bait a full combo, dodge it, then land a couple of hits and back off.
- Avoid blocking the cleaver, which drains a great deal of stamina.
- Use charged or jumping heavy attacks, since the beastman's stance breaks easily.
- Roll in after the final slam of the six-hit combo and go for a backstab or a critical hit.
- In Dragonbarrow Cave, put the cleaver beastman to sleep and kill the knife thrower first.
- Use the shrubs in the Dragonbarrow arena to sneak up and backstab one beastman before the fight starts.
Best Builds
Heavy weapon with charged attacks
Its low stance breaks quickly under charged and jumping heavy attacks.
Fire damage
The beastman takes extra damage from fire.
Status support
Scarlet rot and sleep take hold well; rot spirits wear it down and sleep splits the Dragonbarrow pair.

Drops
Defeating it grants 1,000 runes.

| Flamedrake Talisman +2 |
Notes
- The Groveside Cave beastman drops the Flamedrake Talisman.
- The Dragonbarrow Cave pair gives 65,000 runes and the Flamedrake Talisman +2, and both must fall to win.
- The knife thrower has very little stance, so one charged heavy attack breaks it.
