Elden Ring - NPCs

NPCs are the people met across the Lands Between and the Realm of Shadow, from merchants and smiths to the wanderers whose questlines unlock rewards and endings. Each NPC page covers lore, locations, quest steps, shop stock and the items they leave behind.

Roundtable Hold

Melina brings the Tarnished to the Roundtable Hold, the gathering place of Tarnished champions. Smithing Master Hewg upgrades armaments, and Roderika tunes Spirit Ashes once he takes her on. Finger Reader Enia trades remembrances for boss weapons and sells the armor of fallen champions. The Twin Maiden Husks sell goods and take Bell Bearings to expand their stock.

Sir Gideon Ofnir, Brother Corhyn, D, Fia, Rogier, Nepheli Loux, Diallos and the Dung Eater all spend time in the hold.

Merchants

Merchant Kalé at the Church of Elleh is the first trader most Tarnished meet and sells the Crafting Kit. Nomadic, Isolated and Hermit Merchants camp across the land and sell cookbooks, ammunition and useful materials. Spell teachers such as Sorceress Sellen, Miriel, Pastor of Vows and Brother Corhyn add new spells when given scrolls or prayerbooks. A slain merchant drops a Bell Bearing, and the Twin Maiden Husks sell that merchant's stock in return.

Questlines

Many NPCs move from place to place as their questlines advance, so a character may appear in several regions. Ranni, Fia, Goldmask, Hyetta and the Dung Eater lead to alternate endings. Some questlines lock if a key boss falls first or if the Erdtree is burned too early. An NPC turned hostile by an attack can often be forgiven with Celestial Dew at the Church of Vows.

Smiths and Spirit Tuning

Smithing Master Hewg strengthens weapons to their highest levels and applies or duplicates Ashes of War. War Counselor Iji smiths beside the road to Caria Manor and sells Somber Smithing Stones early. Roderika upgrades Spirit Ashes with Grave Glovewort and Ghost Glovewort. Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon grants rebirth to reassign attribute points for a Larval Tear.

Realm of Shadow

Needle Knight Leda leads Miquella's followers, including Sir Ansbach, Redmane Freyja, Hornsent, Thiollier, Moore and Dryleaf Dane. Approaching the Shadow Keep breaks Miquella's charm and moves many of their questlines forward. Count Ymir, High Priest sends the Tarnished to ring the bells of the Finger Ruins. The Dragon Communion Priestess and Igon both point the way toward Bayle the Dread.
