Akatosh's Talon hits for 27, matching Tsun's Battleaxe as the hardest hitting battleaxe in the game, and it carries the largest fire enchantment on any weapon at 50 points. At 4,832 gold it is also the third most valuable weapon in Skyrim.
Weapon Enchantment
Burns the target for 50 points, and a target already on fire takes extra damage on top of that.
Fifty points is double what most late game fire enchantments do, and it stacks with the burning effect. On a two-handed swing that already does 27, the enchantment is contributing more damage than the weapon is.

Where to Find the Akatosh's Talon Location?
- Added by a Creation rather than found in the base game.
- Its charge drains quickly for a 50 point enchantment, so a supply of filled soul gems is part of the cost of using it.
Smithing Guide
Enchanted weapons require the Arcane Blacksmith Perk to upgrade.
Tempering it needs the Arcane Blacksmith perk, because the weapon is enchanted. The material perk below doubles what each improvement is worth.

Weapon Levels
Some weapons in Skyrim are Levelled. The power of a levelled weapon is based on your charcters level when you get them. Some get stronger in both physical and magical aspects, while others only improve their enchantments. These items don't get better as your character levels up.
