Light Armor governs how well you fight and move in the lighter armour sets in Skyrim. At six perks it is the smallest skill tree in the game.
Sets It Unlocks
Hide, Leather, Elven, Scaled and Glass are the base game's forgeable light sets, matching the light branch of the Smithing tree. Dragonscale and Imperial light armour are also forgeable, as are Chitin and Stalhrim light with the Dragonborn add-on.
Several notable sets cannot be forged: Nightingale, Thieves Guild, Forsworn, Guard, Stormcloak and Fur armour among them.
Light Shields Are Not Light Armor
A shield described as light does not count toward this skill, and neither the skill ranks nor its perks apply to it. Shields are governed by Block instead, which catches out characters building a light-armour blocker.
