Shadowrend is an artifact from the Shadowrend Creation that comes as a battleaxe or a greatsword. In battleaxe form it deals 26 base damage. It waits in the hot springs near the Atronach Stone in Eastmarch. Claiming it starts Through a Glass, Darkly, a fight against the wielder's own shadow.
Weapon Enchantment
Each hit leaves the target 15% weaker to magic for 30 seconds.

Shadowrend waits in a geyser pool northeast of the Atronach Stone in Eastmarch. Taking it starts Through a Glass, Darkly.
- Travel to the geyser pool northeast of the Atronach Stone.
- Try to take Shadowrend.
- Defeat the Shadow that appears.
- Take the battleaxe form of Shadowrend.

Upgrades
Shadowrend (Battleaxe) is improved at a grindstone with one Ebony Ingot per improvement. The Daedric Smithing perk doubles the improvement, so each quality tier needs less Smithing skill. An enchanted copy can only be improved with the Arcane Blacksmith perk.

Weapon Levels
Some weapons in Skyrim are Levelled. The power of a levelled weapon is based on your charcters level when you get them. Some get stronger in both physical and magical aspects, while others only improve their enchantments. These items don't get better as your character levels up.
Shadowrend (Battleaxe) has the same damage at every character level.
