Shadowrend is a Daedric weapon that comes in two forms, and this is the greatsword. It hits for 25 and weighs 23, against the battleaxe form's 26 and 27. You choose which one you get, and the choice is permanent for that playthrough.
Weapon Enchantment
The target is 15 per cent weaker to magic for 30 seconds.
That is a support enchantment rather than a damage one. It is worth most on a character who follows the hit with a spell, or who fights alongside a mage follower, and worth almost nothing on a pure warrior.
You can find full breakdown and information of all Weapon Enchantment Effects.
Where to Find the Shadowrend Greatsword Location?
- Both forms come from the Shadowrend Creation. Defeating the shadow that guards them lets you take one.
- Take the greatsword over the battleaxe if you want the lighter and faster of the two; the axe trades 4 weight for 1 damage.
Smithing Guide
Enchanted weapons require the Arcane Blacksmith Perk to upgrade.
Tempering it needs the Arcane Blacksmith perk, because the weapon is enchanted. The material perk below doubles what each improvement is worth.
| Tempering Material | Perk |
|---|---|

Weapon Levels
Some weapons in Skyrim are Levelled. The power of a levelled weapon is based on your charcters level when you get them. Some get stronger in both physical and magical aspects, while others only improve their enchantments. These items don't get better as your character levels up.
