- Bought from spell merchants rather than blacksmiths, who will not stock a staff at all. The selection is random and level dependent, and this one enters the pool at level 34.
- Found in random loot, and carried by mages and necromancers of the appropriate school.
- The court wizard in each hold and the College of Winterhold are the most reliable places to check.
- Wall of Flames only inflicts Fire Barrier for 1 second; this is the duration the target burns for when directly hit by the spell, before tapering begins, meaning the Staff deals more damage overall on a single hit basis, although the summoned wall is identical for both staff and spell.
