Gynvael Aedd is a Relic silver sword from the base game. It rolls up to +10% Igni sign intensity and up to +10% bonus gold. It lies in the sunken chest at the end of the Skellige treasure hunt Ironsides' Treasure. Its stats are rolled at the moment it is found.
Each copy rolls +7-10% Igni sign intensity, +1-3% XP from humans and nonhumans and +5-10% bonus gold. Every copy adds +8% bleed chance. The Igni bonus and the bleeding damage over time give it a place in a bleeding hybrid.
It has 3 rune slots. These hold three runestones or one runeword, which fills all three slots of a sword.
How to Get Gynvael Aedd
- Follow the treasure hunt Ironsides' Treasure in Skellige to its end.
- Open the sunken chest to take the sword.
- It can also drop as random loot.

The pin marks the sunken chest at the end of Ironsides' Treasure, a treasure hunt in the waters southeast of the Grotto, far north of Faroe in Skellige. The relic Gynvael Aedd lies inside the chest of a sunken longboat.
- Go to the hidden treasure southeast of the Grotto, far north of Faroe.
- Loot the skeleton by the ruined boat for the notes about treasure and read them.
- Kill the sirens guarding the waters just east.
- Dive into the middle of the search area and find the sunken longboat with Witcher Senses.
- Loot its chest for Gynvael Aedd.
