Hjort is a druid of Skellige and a trusted advisor to Udalryk an Brokvar, the jarl of Spikeroog. He serves Clan Brokvar with all his heart. Geralt meets him in Svorlag during the quest Possession.

Lore

---

Like many druids of Skellige, Hjort places great faith in reading the future. He studies the guts of slain animals and the lines of the palm. He also reads dreams. He is said to command great respect among his fellow druids. More than once, he has foretold the future correctly and explained the meaning of puzzling dreams.

His knowledge and skill make him an excellent advisor, and Jarl Udalryk trusts him deeply. Hjort has tried to ease his jarl's strange condition. Despite his efforts, Udalryk's mind has kept getting worse.

Story

---

In Possession, Geralt comes to Svorlag looking for Cerys an Craite. He finds Udalryk telling Hjort about his strange dreams. The druid points Geralt toward villagers who knew the jarl as a boy and toward the jarl's old family home. Geralt learns that a wraith called a hym has latched onto Udalryk. If Geralt follows Cerys's plan to trick the hym, Hjort plays a secret part in it. Cerys tells him the plan, and he slips into the old house unseen. When Geralt seems to throw the jarl's baby into a stove, Hjort is waiting on the other side to catch the child safely. If Geralt chooses the witcher's way instead, Hjort backs him up and provides the torches for the fight.

In King's Gambit, a feast at Kaer Trolde ends in a massacre when guests turn into bears. If Geralt helps Cerys investigate, they bring a sample of the spiked mead to Hjort. He identifies the mushrooms in it, and the trail then leads them to the cellars.
