Cerys an Craite is the daughter of Crach an Craite and the younger sister of Hjalmar. Her friends call her Sparrowhawk, a name that fits her fierce and swift nature. Geralt meets her in Skellige, where she makes her own claim to the throne. With his help, she can become the Queen of the Skellige Isles.
Lore
Cerys is an islander through and through and the spitting image of her father. She inherited all of Crach's courage, resolve and stubbornness. At every turn, she sets out to prove that she can do any task as well as any man in the islands, or better. That includes her older brother Hjalmar, her constant rival.
After the death of King Bran, Cerys shocks everyone by claiming the throne of Skellige. She has thought the decision through. Striving as always to outdo her brother, she plans a great deed that will win her wide respect.
Story
Geralt meets Cerys at the gathering after King Bran's funeral at Kaer Trolde. She challenges him to a race up the mountain.
In Possession, Crach confides to Geralt that Cerys has sailed to Spikeroog. She hopes to cure Jarl Udalryk of a strange affliction. Geralt finds her passed out in an abandoned house. Cerys believes the ghost of Udalryk's brother haunts the jarl. Geralt learns the truth is worse: a malicious wraith called a hym has latched onto Udalryk. Cerys then comes up with a bold plan to trick the hym. She snatches Udalryk's baby and has Geralt pretend to throw the child into a lit stove. Hjort, the jarl's druid, helps her in secret. The hym leaves Udalryk for Geralt, then vanishes when the baby turns out safe. If Geralt chooses the witcher's way instead, he fights the hym through the night.
In King's Gambit, Crach holds a great feast at Kaer Trolde, and it ends in a massacre when guests turn into bears. Geralt must choose whether to help Cerys or Hjalmar investigate. Cerys takes a calm and careful approach, much like Geralt's own. Together they trace the spiked mead to Arnvald, the clan's cupbearer, who tries to kill them in a cellar fire. They then unmask his patron, Birna Bran. Birna is tried before a council of jarls, and her own son Svanrige exposes her lie.
In Coronation, the jarls gather on Hindarsfjall to choose King Bran's heir. If Geralt sided with Cerys in King's Gambit, the Skelligers choose her as their queen. Under her rule, Skellige finds peace and prosperity, and the feared coastal raids come to an end. If Geralt sided with Hjalmar, Cerys accepts her defeat with dignity and backs her brother. If Geralt helped neither, Cerys dies alongside Hjalmar in a failed attack on the Nilfgaardian fleet.
In Brothers In Arms: Skellige, Geralt looks for allies against the Wild Hunt. Once the new ruler is crowned, Hjalmar sails to Kaer Morhen to fight at his side.
Relationships
Crach an Craite is her father, and she takes after him more than anyone. Hjalmar is her older brother and her lifelong rival in deeds and glory. If Hjalmar wins the crown, she gives him her full support.
Geralt is the witcher who helps her win her great deeds.
