Jerome Moreau is a witcher of the School of the Griffin. He is the son of Professor Moreau. His sad story unfolds in Blood and Wine, in the treasure hunt Scavenger Hunt: Grandmaster Griffin Gear and the secondary quest Turn and Face the Strange.
Lore
Jerome turned his back on his parents. He despised his father. Professor Moreau was a cruel madman who claimed to have only the best intentions. He wanted his son back. He studied witcher mutations to learn how to reverse them. His goal was to "cure" Jerome of being a witcher.
Story
Long ago, Jerome was summoned to Fort Ussar in Toussaint for a monster contract. The contract was only a trick to lure him there. His father was behind it. Their meeting ended badly for both of them.
Geralt uncovers this tale while searching for the Grandmaster Griffin diagrams. A report in the ruins of Fort Ussar points to Mont Crane Castle. There, behind an illusion, lie Moreau's hidden quarters. Moreau's journal points to a portal. Geralt powers a crystal with Aard and opens it. A golem guards the cave beyond, which was Jerome's prison. The last Griffin diagrams wait inside.
In Turn and Face the Strange, Geralt finds Professor Moreau's laboratory. It lies in the sunken elven ruins of Dol Naev'de. Recordings there tell the professor's sad tale. He tried to undo his son's mutations, but he only made them stronger. Geralt uses the failed formula on himself and gains new mutations.
