Turn and Face the Strange is a secondary quest in Toussaint from Blood and Wine. Finishing it unlocks mutations, a new set of powerful upgrades for Geralt. It starts with a letter from Yennefer, or from Triss if Geralt is with her. The letter tells of a Professor Moreau who studied witcher mutations and kept a lab in Toussaint. The trail leads from a robbed grave in Beauclair to sunken elven ruins in the Valley of the Nine.

Turn and Face the Strange Map Location and Quest Guide

Turn and Face the Strange map location:

  1. Take the letter from the boy who runs up to Geralt, and read it.
  2. Search for Moreau's grave at Orlémurs Cemetery with Witcher Senses.
  3. Follow the grave robber's trail with Witcher Senses.
  4. Check the location of Naev'de on the map Yennefer or Triss sent.
  5. Travel to the flooded ruins of the Valley of the Nine.
  6. Dive at the marked spot and find the way in among the sunken ruins.
  7. Search the ruins and take the lower path below the spike traps.
  8. Defeat the guardians.
  9. Go deeper into the ruins and defeat the next guardian.
  10. Find the block switches on the walls to open the doors.
  11. Defeat the gargoyle.
  12. Place the gargoyle paw on the stand in the middle of the room.
  13. Enter the portal that the central statue faces.
  14. Take the left portal, climb down, then climb up to the portal on the far side.
  15. Keep moving left to a gap, jump it and enter the portal beyond.
  16. Search the laboratory with Witcher Senses.
  17. Find the two missing megascope crystals, place them on the pillow and listen to the extra recordings.
  18. Acquire mutated giant centipede albumen.
  19. Get undressed and activate Moreau's contraption.
  20. Leave Professor Moreau's laboratory.
