Journeyman armorer

Superior Griffin Armor is the Superior tier of the Griffin School chest armor, medium witcher armor from the base game. It gives 165 armor at level 26, with +15% sign intensity. Its diagram is north of Giants' Toes on Ard Skellig. It fits the mid game.

It also gives +12% piercing, +12% bludgeoning, +18% slashing and +20% monster resistance. The sign intensity suits a signs build.

As a Griffin piece it belongs to a set whose bonuses reward sign casting and Yrden.

Set Bonus

The Griffin set is medium armor. It has five tiers: Basic at level 11, Enhanced at 18, Superior at 26, Mastercrafted at 34 and Grandmaster at 40. 3 pieces: after a sign cast in standard mode with stamina, the next sign cast within 3 seconds costs no stamina. 6 pieces: Yrden traps are 40% larger, and inside the trap stamina regeneration rises by 5/s, sign intensity by 100% and damage taken drops by 20%. These bonuses come from Grandmaster pieces worn as a set.

How to Get Superior Griffin Armor

  • Follow Scavenger Hunt: Griffin School Gear Upgrade Diagrams - Part 3.
  • Search the rocks by the pirate camp north of Giants' Toes on Ard Skellig.
  • Open the chest that holds all four armor diagrams.
  • A journeyman armorer crafts it from the Enhanced Griffin Armor.

Superior Griffin Armor Map Location and Quest Guide

The Superior Griffin Armor diagram lies in a chest among the rocks by a pirate camp near Giants' Toes, on the northeastern tip of Ard Skellig. The pin marks the chest, a stop of Scavenger Hunt: Griffin School Gear Upgrade Diagrams - Part 3.

  1. Buy Edwin Greloff's Third Map from the armorer in Hierarch Square. It starts Scavenger Hunt: Griffin School Gear Upgrade Diagrams - Part 3 and marks every diagram spot.
  2. Sail to the northeastern tip of Ard Skellig, near Giants' Toes.
  3. Kill the pirates camped along the coastline.
  4. Find the last campfire and loot the chest among the rocks nearby for the Superior Griffin Armor diagram. The other three armor diagrams of the tier are inside too.
