Ves is a veteran officer of the Blue Stripes, the Temerian special forces unit. She is Vernon Roche's second-in-command. Geralt helps her in the secondary quest An Eye for an Eye, and she later fights at his side.
Lore
Ves is the only soldier from Roche's old unit to survive the war. The Blue Stripes were decimated and then officially disbanded. Ves stayed at her commander's side to carry on what seems a hopeless fight for Temerian freedom.
She is energetic and tough. She has always stood out for her skill with both crossbow and sword. She outshoots and outshines all the men in her unit by a wide margin. When one of Roche's soldiers defies an order, Ves is the one who disciplines them. No one who gets a reprimand from her ever thinks of disobeying again.
Story
In An Eye for an Eye, Ves breaks her usual discipline. She ignores Roche's orders and leaves her post without leave. Roche turns to Geralt for help. The peasants of Mulbrydale once helped Roche's men, and now Nilfgaardian soldiers are attacking them. Ves has gone alone to defend them, though she knows the fight is close to hopeless.
If Geralt and Roche arrive in time, they save Ves and defeat the imperial troops. Their leader survives thanks to Roche. If they come too late, Ves dies fighting for the peasants. No bard will sing of her stand, and no gravestone will mark where she lies.
Ves owes Geralt her life. If Geralt asks Roche for help, she comes with him to defend Kaer Morhen in The Battle of Kaer Morhen. She would follow Roche into the very depths of the abyss.
In Reason of State, Ves fights with Roche and the Temerian guerrillas in the plot to kill King Radovid. Afterwards, Dijkstra turns on the Temerians. If Geralt does not step in, Ves dies in this political struggle. She falls at her commander's side, as she lived.
Relationships
Vernon Roche is her commander, and she is fiercely loyal to him. Thaler is her ally among the Temerian patriots.
